Here is how you make Mom's Curry Butternut Squash Soup:

Sweat onion, celery, carrot in butter and add garlic. Cook for about 6 minutes. Add squash, broth and curry powder (sometimes I add red pepper too for a kick). Simmer for 30 min. Puree in a blender in batches or with an immersion blender.You can garnish with parmesan cheese or olive oil.
