2 lbs beef chuck roast,
1 cup chopped raw onion
2 cloves choppe raw garlic
1/2 tsp fresh ground pepper (or to taste)
1tsp salt (or to taste)
dash of onion salt (prior to browning)
dash of garlic salt (prior to browning
1 package of onion dry soup mix
6 cups beef broth
1 cup red wine (optional)
4 cups elbow macaroni

How Do I Make Bachelor Beef?

Here is how you make Bachelor Beef:

Season meat on both sides with salt, fresh ground pepper, onion salt and garlic salt. Brown meat on both sides and remove from pan. Add onions, saute untill translucent. Add garlic and simmer until garlic is golden. Don't scortch the garlic. Move onions and garlic aside and return meat to pan. Add beef broth (make sure the meat is at least 3/4 covered with liquid. Add onion soup mix to top of meat. Simmer 3 to 4 hours, or untill meat is tender, checking liquid level often. (adding a good red wine to the liquid can give the dish a different taste). When meat is tender remove from pan and set aside, keeping the meat warm. Stir in macaroni untill there is about 1/4 or 1/2 inch of liquid covering.
