How Do I Make Feijoada Brasileira Simples - Easy Brazilian Feijoada?

Here is how you make Feijoada Brasileira Simples - Easy Brazilian Feijoada:

1. For the meats - cook separately:Add water to the pressure cook. Put one tbsp salt, and if you have some garlic powder and garlic onion powder add some to the water. Leave the garlic and the onion for the time when you add the meats to the beans to cook together. The water has to be up to one inch above the meat.Cook the meat checking it now and then for softeness. It has be soft but not breaking up. It will cook more with the beans. Sautee the onion and minced garlic in a killet and reserve. Do not overcook so the garlic does not turn bitter. Reserve.Pour 5 of the cans of beans into a large pan. Do not drain it.Process (blender or food processor) the other can of beans and add the paste to the pan.Stirr well.Add the salt, garlic and onion powder to the mix and stirr well.Add the pork, the beef, and the sausage stirring softly so you don't break the meat too much..Add the juices from the pork and beef to cover the stew (if you put too much of that water you will have to wait longer to evaporate a little so you don't make feijoada soup.).Add the 3 bay leaves.Cook in medium heat stirring now and then so it does not stick to the bottom of the pan. If needed add some water. Some people like it thick on the side of the rice and some like it running over the rice. We serve that with collard greens and white rice. For the collard greens in the picture, sautee finely chopped onion and minced garlic in melted butter or maegerine. Roll the collard gree leaves very tight and cut in fine strips. Then cook in that butter. There's no magic amount. Add salt carefully depending on the butter or margerine. It shinks like crazy so get at least two bunches of collard greens... Trust me... Sometimes that is the best part of the feijoada for me. EnjoyServing Size:?This makes 10 to 12 servings with rice
