What Are The Ingredients For Quiche Lorraine Recipe? The ingredients for Quiche Lorraine are: For the Pastry:225g plain flour 150g chilled unsalted butter, chopped 1 egg, beaten eggwash made with 1 egg yolk and a little cold water For the Filling: 75g bacon, cut into small pieces 75g Cheddar, cut into small cubes 3 eggs, lightly beaten 284ml tub double cream salt and pepper nutmeg How Do I Make Quiche Lorraine? Here is how you make Quiche Lorraine: Sift the flour into a bowl. Using thumbs and fingertips rub butter into flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.Add beaten egg and mix into crumbs with a round bladed knife until they start to bind. Gather mixture to form a soft but not sticky dough. Wrap in in plastic wrap and chill in fridge for 20-30 minutes before rolling out.Grease and lightly flour an 8in tart pan. Flour the rolling pin and work surface. Starting from the centre, roll outwards working in one direction only - generally away from you - using short strokes. Regularly turn the pastry a quarter turn to prevent sticking. Lift occasionally to re-flour work surface.Wrap the pastry around the rolling pin and unwind over the tart pan. Let the surplus hang over the edge. Press gently down into the pan and trim the excess pastry with scissors so that it stands about 1cm (1/2 in) around the pan. Preheat oven to 190oC/375oF/gas 5. Blind bake for 15 minutes. Paint the base with eggwash and put back into oven uncovered for 5 minutes to seal.Lower temperature to 150oC/300oF/gas 2. Fry the bacon until golden, drain on kitchen paper then scatter with the cheese cubes over the base of the tart.Mix together the eggs and cream, season and pour gently into the base. Don't fill completely until it is in the oven on a warmed baking sheet - then fill it up and dust with nutmeg. Bake for 30-35 minutes until just set. Remove from oven and stand for a few minutes before serving.Serving Size: Makes 8 servingsNumber of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user TRIPLETSMUM.What's The Nutritional Info For Quiche Lorraine? The nutritional information for Quiche Lorraine is:
