2 Lbs Ground beef , 90% lean
1 or two large onions chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 red orange or yellos bell pepper. diced
2 fresh tomatoes, diced
16 oz package of fresh mushrooms, sliced thinly
2 16 ounce cans of diced, stewed tomatoes
3 cups of vegetable juice cocktail
1-3 0z of garlic, finely chopped, I use the kind in the jar.
2 T. Oregano
2 T. Basil
2 T. sugar
1/2 T. salt

Here is how you make Hearty garden pasta sauce:

Put hamburger in 5 quart saucepan and brown. While it is browning chop additional vegetables and add them to the pot. Add the stewed tomatoes, vegetable juice cocktail, and spices. Bring to a slow rolling boil and cover. You will want to cook it at least 45 minutes for all of the vegetables to get done, but the longer the better!
