Here is how you make Pancakes (Mom's):

In a large bowl, mix together flour, salt, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, oil and vanilla. Gradually add milk to the egg mixture whisking as you add it. Pour the liquid mixture into the flour mixture and stir with a whisk until no lumps remain. Allow to sit for 5 minutes to allow dough to "rise". Heat an electric skillet to 350 degrees. Use a large spoon to place dough on skillet. Heat about 5 minutes on one side (until bottom is brown). Flip and heat the other side about five minutes (or until bottom is brown and no raw dough is visible on the sides of the pancake).
