Preheat oven to 425 ºF. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda & sale in mixing bowl. Stir well with fork to mix and aerate. Cut the butter into the flour mixture until mixture looks like fresh breadcrumbs. Add milk, currants & orange rind. Mix only until the dry ingredients are moistened.Gather dough into a ball and press so it holds together. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Knead lightly 12 times. Pat dough into a circle 1/2 inch thick. Cut dough into circles using drinking glass or biscuit cutter. Place scone 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet.
