1cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup plus 2tbsp oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1tbsp flax seed meal
2 tbsp brewers yeast
1/2 stick unsalted butter frozen
1 egg
1/3 cup fat free greek yogurt (plain Fage 0%)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup frozen berries-thawed and juice drained
1 tbsp sugar


How Do I Make Berry Scones?

Here is how you make Berry Scones:

1. Preheat oven 350F.2. Line cookie sheet w/parchment paper. Combine flax with 1tbsp water-set aside.3. In big bowl, mix flour, 1/2 cup oats, brown sugar, brewer's yeast and baking powder.4. Add frozen butter by grating into mix5. In a separate small dish combine egg, yogurt, flax, vanilla and whisk together.6. Add berries to wet mix and stir7. Add wet mix to dry mix.8. Mix 2 tbsp oats with 1 tbsp and sprinkle 1/2 onto parchment.9. Put mix on parchment as large mass (if too sticky, put into refrigerator for a few minutes to firm up)10. Form dough into oval shape and cut into 6 equal wedges separating slightly on parchment.11. Sprinkle remaining oat/sugar combo on top.12. Bake 24-26 minutes. 13.
