How Do I Make SALTED CARAMELS?

Here is how you make SALTED CARAMELS:

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Mix flour and baking powder then add to the butter/sugar fluff until incorporated well. Press into 9X13 pan (layered with parchment paper) and bake for 20-25 minutes at 350 degrees. For the caramel, melt butter and add sugar and dark corn syrup. Add the milk and constantly stir over high heat until the mixture turns a caramel color and starts to pull away from the sides of the pan. Careful, this burns easily.When caramel is done, pour over the top of the shortbread and sprinkle with large granules of sea salt (optional).
