Boil gently in a saucepan: the water, raisins, and apricots, for 10 minutes. Set aside on counter until cool to the touch. Cream the margarine and sugar. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, alternating with the cream cheese. Add the vanilla and cooled fruit mixture, stir. Stir in the flour and baking soda.
