1 package of Angel Food Cake
1 can Crush Pinapple (preferred) or as in this recipe i used Pinapple Tidbits, the only ones available at the store that day!
1 package Frozen strawberries, thawed (fresh can be substitued, if you prefer)

Here is how you make Pinapple angel Food Cake W/ Strawberry Topping:

If you are using the crushed pinapples, open can, and set aside. If using tidbits, open can, drain juice into a cup, and place pinapples into a blender or food processor to blend them down into a smaller size, will be similar to a puree. Open Cake mix and empty into mixing bowl, add pinapple and juice, ** DO NOT ADD WATER AS DIRECTED ON PACKAGE, JUICE ACTS AS WATER** Follow directions on package to mix and bake as you normally would.Once cool. Add strawberries as desired. *optional ideas*I used the glaze they sell as well, and baked my cake in 2- 8 " round pans and placed the glaze between the 2 layers with strawberries in between and strawberries on top as well. I also mixed a small amout of butter cream icing with strawberries to ice the top, i didn't account for the "liquid" in the strawberries, so it was more like a glaze, but it was delicious.The possibilities are ENDLESS, and DELICIOUS.Number of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user MOMMY2TYLER928.
