Mix all bran, boiling water, soda in bowl. Set aside.Cream margarine, white sugar, then add eggs,beat. Add all bran mixture, raisins or dates, buttermilk, stir to combine. Beat in flour, salt until no lumps left, Fold in Bran Flakes. Batter is rather thin, thickens as it sits in fridge. Allow to rest in fridge for few hours. Spoon into muffin tins to 7/8 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or 18 for medium muffins. These are very moist muffins. Makes 48 to 60 muffins depending on medium or large muffins.
