A really dark, not too sweet fudge sauce. Because it does not require any cream we usually have everything on hand if we want to make it. Terrific with ice cream and strawberries. I divide this in half and freeze half for another time. Freezes really well, just reheat in the microwave when needed. Better than anything we have ever bought, and easy to make. Bring water to a boil in a heavy saucepan. Add butter and chocolate mix to water and mix well. Add sugar, corn syrup and salt and whisk well. Return to heat and bring to a boil. Cook at low boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, and let set 15 minutes, again stirring occasionally. Add vanilla and stir. If making ahead, warm before serving over ice cream.
