2 C flour
2 T sugar
1 T baking powder
1/2 t salt
1/3 C butter
1 egg, beaten
3/4 C milk (approx.)


How Do I Make Tea Scones?

Here is how you make Tea Scones:

Preheat oven to 425. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Chop in the butter with a pastry blender (or two knives) until the flour-coated particles of butter are the size of coarse cornmeal. Add the egg and about 3/4 of the milk. Stir quickly and lightly until no flour shows. Add more milk if needed to make a soft dough. Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface. Knead gently about 15 times. Cut dough in half. Shape each half into a ball. Press down into a round 1/2" thick. Cut into 8 wedges. Place wedges on ungreased cookie sheet.
