Once all the beef is browned, pour in about 3/4 bottle of red wine in pan to "deglaze" the pad and scrape all those brown bits from the bottom. Add this to your meat into the crockpot.4. Chop all your veggies and add them to your crockpot.5. Add the can of tomatoes with the juice.6. Add the beef broth. this makes it very saucy, so if you want less sauce at the end, add a little less broth.7. Add salt if you want to, but I never do. I add lots of fresh ground black pepper.8. Now set it to cook for about 8 hours.9. Just before serving I add veloutine which is a sauce thickening agent to make my sauce thick, but you can use cornstartch if you want.
