2 pounds stewing beef
3 tbsp oil
1 tbsp Worchestershire sauce
4 1/2 cups beef broth
1 bay leaf
2 onions, chopped
4 carrots, sliced
2 stalks celery, sliced
4 cups potatoes (peeled and cubed)
1/4 cup brown flour
1/2 envelope gravy mix
2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp each onion salt and garlic salt
1/4 tsp pepper

Here is how you make Beef Stew (Louis' Favourite):

In a plastic bag, combine flour, paprika, salt and pepper. Add 1/2 of meat cubes and shake. Remove and repeat with other half of meat cubes. Let rest 10 minutesIn a large non-stick plan, heat 1/2 tbsp oil. Brown 1/2 of meat for 8 minutes, turning. Add 1/2 tbsp Worchestershire. Stir and remove. Repeat browning with other half of meat in remaining oil. After 8 minutes, add remaining Worchestershire. Place meat in a large pot and add 2 cups of the beef broth. Add the bay leaf. Bring to a boil and simmer, covered, for 1 hour.Afterwards, add onion, carrot, celery and potato cubes to the pot. In a bowl, mix remaining broth, brown flour, gravy mix and lemon juice. Add to pot. Add more broth if needed to cover. Simmer, covered, on low for 45 minutes.
