9 Barilla Manicotti Shells
1/4 cup onion, diced
1 15 oz ricotta cheese, part skim
1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
3/4 Parmesan Cheese
1 bottle marinara (about 16 oz or so)


How Do I Make Cheese and Italian Sausage Cannelloni?

Here is how you make Cheese and Italian Sausage Cannelloni:

Makes 9 Cannelloni. (Serves 4-5, 2 each)Brown sausage and drain. Return to pan and add chopped onion. Simmer until onion is tender. Set aside to cool. Add 9 manicotti shells to a pot of boiling water, cook 8 minutes, drain and cool. Add (now cooled) sausage and onion to a bowl with the ricotta cheese, Mozzarella and 2 tablespoons of the parmesan cheese. Mix well. Coat the bottom of a 16x9 baking dish with a couple spoonfuls of the marinara sauce. Fill (now cooled) manicotti shells with about a 1/3 cup of the filling mixture and place in the dish. Top with remaining marinara sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Cover and bake 40 minutes at 375.
