2 Cups Jasmine or other White Rice

1/4 t. Garlic Powder

Here is how you make Homemade Chicken and Rice Soup:

- Wash chicken legs, and remove skin and fat- Place chicken in a soup pot with water filled to about 1.5 inch from top.- Add salt- Cook on hi and bring to a soft boil. Reduce heat to medium and continue to cook till foam forms on top of soup.- Skim all foam and any fat from top. Discard.- Add celery, carrots, and onion.- Reduce heat to simmer 2.5 hours.- Remove chicken legs and de-bone. Discard bones.- Cut chicken into small bite sized pieces. Return to soup.- Rinse rice to remove starch.
