Here is how you make Beef and Black Bean Chili:

Spray a large nonstick saucepan with nonstick vegetable oil cooking spray and set over medium heat.  Add the beef and cook, breaking it up with a wooden spoon until browned, about 3 to 5 min.  Drain off any fat.Add celery, bell pepper, mushrooms, jalapeno, and garlic.  Cook stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened-about 8 min.  Add the tomatoes, beans, water, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and bring to a boil.  Reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally, until chili is thickened- about 45 mins.  Portion and serveNumber of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SWEETPEA231980.
