4 slices of bacon
1/2 C chopped onion
1/2 C. diced baking potato
2 C 1 C% or fatfree milk
1 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp dried thyme
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 TBS cornstarch


How Do I Make Fresh Corn Chowder?

Here is how you make Fresh Corn Chowder:

Cut off corn kernels into large bowl and scrape milk of corn cob into bowl. Fry bacon till crisp, and reserve bacon fat. Fry onions in bacon fat until tender. Add corn, diced potato, to mixture and simmer for 10 minutes. Add 1 1/2 C milk with seasonings and sugar. Mix in cornstarch with 1/2 C milk. Bring mixture to a boil and add last part of milk, stirring frequently for 15 minutes until thickened. Top off with bacon bits.
