Here is how you make Poor Man's Pie:

Peel potatoes, cover with water and add tsp of salt, cook until fork tender. While potatoes are cooking; brown ground sirloin with the diced onion, drain. Mash the potatoes with the butter and milk; spread ground meat mixture on bottom of large baking dish, then layer peas and carrots (can use other vegetables it you wish) over that, last top with the mashed potatoes.
