Here is how you make Gina's White Rice:

Prep.: cut half onion in small dices, crush 2 garlic cloves.Cooking: In a regular pot heat up about 8 to 10 tbsp of canola oil in high heat. Pour the onions, the garlic and the 2 cups of rice. Sautee it for about 4 to 5 minutes in a medium heat. Bring heat up and add 4 cups of hot water. Add 2 tsp of salt and bring it to a boil. The water will start to evaporate and the rice will start showing at the top, then cover the pot and bring the flame to the lowest heat. Let it cook for a while. After about 20 minutes with a fork check right in the middle of the pot to see if all the water has evaporated, if so the rice should be fully cooked and soft to bite.
