Here is how you make Asparagus Risotto:

Place smart balance or other butter substitute in a pan on low heat and allow to melt. Add citrus juice and dry risotto. Cook for 1-2 minutes until liquid has coated and been absorbed by the rice.Add 1/2 of the broth and cook over medium heat until absorbed. While the risotto is cooking, break the tough ends off the aspargus by holding each spear at both ends and bending until it snaps. Discard the lower portion. Once all the asparagus has been broken, chop into 1/4 or 1/2 inch pieces and set aside.Add the remaining broth to risotto and stir to combine. Add the asparagus and cook another 5-10 minutes. Add the romano cheese and stir until thoroughly combined. Continue to cook until the mixture is thick and the risotto is al dente, stirring occasionally. Usually this takes 15-20 minutes of cooking time.Remove the risotto from the heat and add the zest.
