1 16 oz can of blue crab (or any other crab), 2 cups of hawaiian sweet bread (shredded), 1 tbsp canola oil mayonnaise (may also use reduced fat), 2 tbsp caesar salad dressing (I used costco dressing), 2 tbsp honey mustard (if you like your crab cakes a little spicy, then you can use other mustards), 1 large raw egg, 1-2 medium onion (diced), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil, 1 tbsp dried parsley, 2 tsp ponzu sauce (citrus flavored soy sauce), 1/4 c of lemon juice, 2 tsp parmesan cheese, 2 tsp italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp hawaiian salt, 1/2 tsp pepper

Here is how you make Cathy's Hawaii style crab cakes:

1. Heat the olive oil in a skillet. Add diced onions and garlic. Stir-fry until onions are clear but not browned. Add pepper, salt and italian seasoning to taste.2. combine all ingredients except crab, sweet bread, onion, garlic, and egg. Hawaiian salt and pepper are added to taste. Mix until evenly blended then taste mixture for taste preference of crab cake (sweet bread will make the crab cake a little bit sweeter).3. Add egg. Make sure stir-fry from step 1 has cooled then add to sauce mixture. Mix to even consistency.4. Add shredded sweet bread. Mix until evenly coated.5. Add crab, mix until evenly coated.6. Scoop up mixture with hand (about a golf-ball and a half sized). Form into a ball and place on a pyrex tray, aluminum foil, or ungreased cookie sheet. Press down on ball to make a patty approximately 2.5 inches across and .75 inch thick.7. Heat oven to 400F and bake for 15 min.8. Should make 14 crab cakes.
