Cabot Vermont 50% Light Cheddar Cheese, 10 oz shredded
Butter, salted, 4 tbsp
Mozzarella Cheese, whole milk, 4 oz shredded
Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, unenriched, .3 TB
Milk, 1%, 2.5 cup
Bread crumbs, dry, grated, plain, .25 cup


How Do I Make Healthy Mac and Cheese?

Here is how you make Healthy Mac and Cheese:

Preheat oven to 350F. Boil water for pasta, cook al dente according to mfg's instructions. Melt 2 TB butter in saucepan. Sautee onions. Add flour to pan and cook for 1 to 2 minutes. Gradually add in milk. Bring to boil, then take off of heat. Add 8 oz of cheddar and all the mozzarella. Combine thoroughly. Add sauce to cooked macaroni. Pour into greased baking dish (Pam). Sprinkle remainder of cheddar on top, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and dot with remaining butter. Bake for 15 minutes and turn oven up to broil. Brown top and remove from oven.
