1/2 cup half and half creamer

Here is how you make Hyacinth's Homemade Fish Chowder:

Boil cubed potatoes until soft, about 15 minutes and set aside. In the same pot, saute onions and salmon (mash up salmon into small pieces during saute) in 2 T. butter until onions are translucent and salmon is cooked through, about 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup water and simmer for about 5 minutes. Add potatoes back in and add milk and simmer uncovered on low heat for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, being careful not to let milk boil.
