Bread should be perfectly square and thin (typical store-bought thickness). Set aside.Prepare the filling:In a blender mix together the salmon, mayonnaise, onion and basil. Blend until creamy and smooth (and fairly liquid) - you might need to add some of the salmon juice or some water to achieve this.Assembly:On a tray, lay out four slices of bread. Spread with the salmon sauce.Layer 4 more slices of bread - stagger them by cutting one slice in half so that the seams do not align (ie, like bricklaying).
