2 jalape?o chili, seeded, chopped

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 cup basmati rice,* cooked according to package directions

Here is how you make Red Lentil Dal:

Heat oil in large pot over medium heat. Add onions, garlic cloves and jalapenos. Saut? until tender and golden brown, about 5 minutes. Add turmeric, cumin, garam marsala continue to saute for another 5 minutes.Add water and lentils. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until lentils are tender, about 15 minutes. Add pureed tomatoes and simmer 5 to 10 minutes to blend flavors. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Spoon rice into bowls. Spoon dal over. Top with tomatoes, cilantro.
