Adapted from Taste of Home Slow Cooker Recipe Cards. p 59, January 2008. I used 13.25 oz of Whole Grain Pasta instead of 16 oz. of egg noodles, Ground Turkey instead of Ground Beef. Turkey Pepperoni instead of regular pepperoni. Twice as much Mushrooms and a whole onion instead of a 1/4 cup. I also used 2 15 oz. cans of Hunts Tomato Sauce and Tones Spaghetti Seasoning. The original recipe called for a 26 oz jar of spaghetti sauce. Its still a little high in calories (I noted 10 servings instead of 6-8) but it could placate a multi person household where some still want some favorites. The cheese could be cut down if desired.

1 1/2 lbs. ground turkey
1 yellow onion, chopped
2 15 oz cans of Hunts Tomato Sauce
1/3 cup Tone's Spicy Spaghetti Seasoning
2 4oz cans mushrooms
3 oz turkey pepperoni - sliced in half
3 cups (12 oz) shredded part-skim mozzarella
3 cups (12 oz) shredded cheddar cheese


How Do I Make Slow Cooker Pizza?

Here is how you make Slow Cooker Pizza:

Cook pasta according to package instructions. Meanwhile in a large skillet cook ground turkey and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Stir in tomato sauce, seasoning, and mushrooms. Drain pasta. In a 5 qt slow cooker coated with non-stick cooking spray, spread a third of the meat sauce. Cover with a third of the pasta and pepperoni. Sprinkle with a third of the cheese. Repeat layers twice. Cover and cook on low for 3-4 hours or until heated through and cheese is melted.
