1.5 teaspoons of olive oil
1 small onion ( i use white onion)
2 or more cloves of garlic (obviously this is to taste)
1/8 teaspoon of red pepper
1 smooth chayote.
2 tablespoons of recaito (goya cilantro soup base)
salt and pepper to taste

Here is how you make Chayote Soup:

cube chayote or pulse once in food processor and set aside. oil saucepan with olive oil and heat over a medium heat, add onion and garlic and saute lightly. pour water and bouillon / stock in pan, bring to a boil.add chayote, red pepper flakes and 1 tablespoon of recaito turn down heat simmer for 20 mins turn off heatAdd the rest of the recaito and salt and pepper to taste. let rest for 5 mins then enjoy!Serving Size: about two 1 cup servingsNumber of Servings: 2Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user TIALKALINE.
