This is an old recipe that I got years ago. I tweeked it a little to make it a tad healthier. I used 93% Lean Gr Beef, only 1 Tbsp of Canola oil, and whole wheat flour to thicken. I also used Morton salt substitute instead of salt. So this is low sodium, low fat, high fiber and a good source of protein. What Are The Ingredients For Chili Beans for a Crowd Recipe? The ingredients for Chili Beans for a Crowd are: Approx 2 lbs dry pinto beans1 lb 93% Lean Ground Beef 1/3 Cup Whole Wheat Flour 1/3 Cup Chili Powder (make sure it is fresh) 1 Tbsp Chopped Garlic 2 tsp Salt Sub 2 tsp Cumin, ground Water (didn't measure) How Do I Make Chili Beans for a Crowd? Here is how you make Chili Beans for a Crowd: 1. Prepare dry beans by picking out the rocks and beans that don't look so hot. Cover with water to about 2 inches above beans. Bring to a boil, boil about 1-2 mins. Remove from heat and soak for 1 hr. Pour out water (this is suppose to help with gas).2. Add more water to cover beans 2 inches above beans. I used a pressure cooker and cooked beans for 35 mins. If you cook them without pressure cooker, you should probably cook them for about 2 hrs. Test periodically. The beans should be just done-not mushy. This will make the dish look better.3. When beans are just about done, brown ground beef in Canola oil. Add garlic when brown. Continue cooking about 1-2 mins.4. Combine flour and chili powder. Add to the meat. Mix well. 5. Pour about 2-3 cups from the bean pot into the meat mixture. Stir well.6. Add the meat mixture to the pot of beans. Add the remaining seasonings. Simmer about 15 more mins.Makes approx 20 - 1 cup servings Top with shredded cheese if desired.Number of Servings: 20Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user YIAYIA-THALIA.What's The Nutritional Info For Chili Beans for a Crowd? The nutritional information for Chili Beans for a Crowd is:
