What Are The Ingredients For Kettle Corn Recipe?

The ingredients for Kettle Corn are:

2.5 tbs of sugar
1/4 tsp salt
1 tbs + 1 tsp canola oil
1/2 C unpopped popping corn

How Do I Make Kettle Corn?

Here is how you make Kettle Corn:

Heat the burner to medium (around a 6 on my stove) Mix sugar & salt together in the whirley pop (you want the salt distribution to be fairly even). Add the canola oil & mix well. Add popcorn to the sugar/oil mix & make sure it gets coated evenly. Clamp the lid on & place whirley pop on the hot burner. Slowly turn the hand crank until the first kernels begin to pop, then speed up. Do not stop turning the crank! When the popping slows down to 1-2 per second, remove from heat. Empty into a large bowl & allow to cool before eating. Some notes of caution- doing this on too high a heat will burn the sugar before the corn finishes popping. Guess low & experiment with subsequent batches (it will still pop at a 5, it just takes longer). Also, melted sugar is VERY hot- let the kernels cool a bit before popping one in your mouth!Serving Size: Makes a large bowl of popcorn, easily shared with 4 peopleNumber of Servings: 4Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SPRING1973.
