Preheat oven to 400 degrees and spray cookie sheet with Pam. Cut the sweet onion into 1/2 inch slices and separate into rings. Put milk, flour, egg whites and crushed croûtons into separate bowls. Dip onions in milk, then flour, then egg whites and then croûtons.
