Here is how you make Soft Pretzels:

In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast, 1 tsp of sugar into warm water. let stand for 10 minutesIn a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt, make a well in the center, add oil and yeast, mix and form into a ball. If the mix is too dry add more warm water, TB at a time. knead for 7-8 miutes or until smooth. lightly oil a bowl and turn the ball to coat and cover and let rise until doubled. Preheat oven to 450. Dissolve baking soda in a bowl of hot water.When the dough has risen, turn out on a floured surface, divide into 12 pieces. Form a pretzel shape. Then dip into baking soda solution, and place on a greased baking sheet. sprinkle with salt and bake for 8 minutes or until browned.
