How Do I Make Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Almonds?

Here is how you make Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed with Almonds:

Preheat oven to 400*. Lay bacon on a plate covered with a paper towel and continue to layer until all the bacon is used. Make sure top layer is covered with a paper towel. Microwave bacon for two-three minutes to pre-cook slightly and make it more pliable. Allow to cool a bit. If you prefer you can par cook in a frying pan as well. While the bacon is cooking/cooling, stuff each pitted date with an almond. If you are unable to obtain pitted dates they are easy to pit by slicing halfway through and pulling out the pit. Wrap each stuffed date with the halved bacon slices. Lay on a parchment lined baking sheet - seam side down - or secure with a toothpick. Bake 5-7 minutes until bacon is crispy. Cool before eating unless you want to blister your tongue and palate! Best served slightly warm or at room temperature. I like to keep these stocked in my fridge. When I need a quick snack I grab a couple, warm 10-15 seconds in the micro and eat. YUM!Serving Size: 1 piece of delicious YUM!Number of Servings: 24Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user AGOETZ62.
