Melt butter in a sauce pan. Stir in flour until blended. Add chicken broth a few drops at a time (at first) and whisk into butter & flour mixture. By adding the liquid slowly, there is less chance of lumping. Once all the broth is incorporated, add the chicken and egg. Finally, open your spice cabinet and think about what would taste good in it. I use everything from garlic powder to poultry seasoning and pepper.
