Sift the flour and salt together and add the egg. Stir into a dough sprinkling cold water if neccessary. Knead until smooth. Let the dough rest about 30 minutes. Flatten dough out onto a floured bread board and pinch or cut off small irregular pieces into rapidly boiling water and cook until tender (about 15 minutes). Drain and rinse.
