Preheat oven to 450. Combine dry ingredients. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Add milk and mix with a fork until just combined. Turn onto lightly floured surface and knead gently about 10 times until dough is smooth. Roll out to about 1/2" thick and cut using a drinking glass dipped in flour. (The number of biscuits will change depending on the size of your cutter). Place on baking sheet so edges touch.
