Here is how you make Cherry Syrup:

Slice cherrie in half after pitting. Put cherries, sugar and juice in sauce pan and heat to slight boiling. Once cherries are soft, mix hot water and corn starch together and slowly add to pan mixing quickly. Only add enough corn starch mixture for desired thickness.
