1 1/2 pkg dry active yeast (I proofed first)
1 egg
1 c cold water

Here is how you make Moms Rolls:

If the room is a bit cool preheat oven to 150 (lowest heat on mine) and turn off once heated. Set the dough in there to rise when done kneading.Scald milk, either in pot of microwave. Add shortening and sugar. Add cold water, then yeast (proofed or not) and egg (already beaten). Mix 5 cups flour and salt in another bowl. Add to wet mixture and stir. Add more flour as needed. Knead, I did for about 4 mins.Let rise for an hour and a half, punch dough to get air out, reshape and let rise another hour.Cook approximately 10 mins at 350, or until just starting to brown on top.Looking forward to any suggestions as this is only my second time making rolls, both times with this recipe!Number of Servings: 24Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user NEWMOM1001.
