0.5 tsp baking soda

0.5 cups butter (best quality you can find) at room temp
0.75 cups firmly packed brown sugar
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 egg at room temp
6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips

Here is how you make Nessa's Soft And Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line baking sheet with parchment paper. Sift flour, baking soda and salt at least 3 times to ensure proper mixing and set aside. Start mixing butter on lowest speed in mixer. Slowly add sugar and mix for about 3-4 minutes. Add egg and vanilla extract and continue mixing well for about 2-3 minutes. Add the flour mixture and continue blending until fully incorporated for about 3 minutes. Add chocolate chips and mix in with a spatula. Add dough mixture 1 tbsp at a time to baking sheet spaced 2 inches apart. This recipe will yield 18 cookies so a second batch will have to baked or 1/2 of dough could be frozen for later use. After baking for 10 minutes remove from oven and let cookies cool on baking dish for 15 to 20 minutes before serving.Will freeze for 3 months.
