What Are The Ingredients For Cheddar Chowdar Recipe?The ingredients for Cheddar Chowdar are: ¼ cupButter / Margarine ½ each medium White Onion (small dice) 11 each Thin carrots (small dice) 1 cup Chicken Broth- MSG & Sodium Free 2 heads Broccoli (bite size pieces) 4 each Potatoes (small dice) 1 cup West Virginia Ham Filets (medium dice) ¼ tsp Salt Pinch Celery Seed 1/8 tsp Dry Mustard ½ tsp Parsley Flakes 1 tsp Lea & Perkins Sauce- Worcestershire Sauce ¼ tsp White or Black Pepper 5 ounces Cracker Barrel - New York Aged Reserve White Cheddar (Shredded) 2 cups 2% Milk or Lactaid Milk 4 Tbsp Flour ¼ cup Butter / Margarine How Do I Make Cheddar Chowdar?Here is how you make Cheddar Chowdar: 1.) In a medium stock pot sauté the onions, carrots in butter or margarine. Until translucent and a’dente. (about 3minutes) 2.) Add the chicken broth & potatoes cook till a’dente, stir mixture. Place a cover the stock pot. (about 3 minutes) 3.) Add the broccoli and steam, till a’dente. Don’t stir! (about 10 minutes) 4.) Remove the pot from the heat & add the ham. 5.) In a small stockpot make a roux (4 Tbsp flour and ¼ cup Butter/Margarine) over medium heat. 6.) Add milk, celery seed, dry mustard, parsley flakes, worcestershire sauce, and pepper. 7.) Whisk over medium heat until mixture starts to thicken. Then add the cheddar cheese. 8.) Stir until smooth & bubbly. Take care not to scorch this mixture. 9.) Add this milk mixture to the vegetable mixture. 10.) Serve hot with Croutons. 11.)
