Here is how you make Quick and Easy New England Clam Chowder:

Cook bacon in large sauce pan until brown, remove and pat dry. Crumble and set aside. Remove drippings from pan except for one tsp. Sautee celery, onions and garlic in drippings until onion begins to brown slightly. Add diced potato and water. Bring to a boil. Lower heat to simmer, cover and cook until potato is done. Uncover and add milk and clams. Heat until steaming but not boiling. Add dehydrated potatoes, wait until soup thickens, then add thyme.
