Low Fat homemade black bean burgers

found a recipe at AllRecipes.com I thought I'd try. I used oatmeal instead of bread crumbs and egg substitute instead of eggs. It said it made 4, but I filled 6 of the old tupperware meat patty trays with it, and they were still too thick. Personally, I think thin is better. You could possibly make at least 10 patties. Once frozen, they held up rather well thin. They probably need some more spice though. If anyone has a suggestion, I'd like to try it. I think they have potential, but they are still lacking something.

How Do I Make Low Fat homemade black bean burgers?

Here is how you make Low Fat homemade black bean burgers:

Suggestions on the site were to mix all the veggies in a blender and then add beans. that's what I did. I added the oatmeal in the middle. The mixture is very runny, like muffin mix. they freeze really well though. My recommendation is to freeze them and then cook them -- they hold the shape much better that way. The suggestions are to either grill them, 8 minutes on each side - on foil that has been sprayed - or bake them at 350, 10 minutes on each side - on a cookie sheet. I lined the cookie sheet with sprayed foil and baked them as they hadn't fully set up yet.Number of Servings: 6Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SPAZWRITER.
