Here is how you make Crock Pot Black Beans (1 cup):

Rinse and soak beans in about 2 quarts of water overnight or for at least 8 hours. Drain and rinse soak water off beans and put beans into a crock pot. Add onion and garlic ONLY (important, don't add other seasonings until the last hour or your beans will be hard). Cook on low for 4-8 hours. Add cumin and sea salt and any other seasonings you desire. I sometimes add pork seasoning. Stir well.
