Here is how you make Cabbage Poriyal:

Lentils can be swapped out with yellow split peas or bengal gram.If using peas, soak them for 10 min . In a medium saucepan, heat the oil and temper the mustard and cumin seeds a minute or two. dd the onion and peppers or cayenne if not using pablano pepper. Saute till onion is soft and lightly browned. Drain the peas and stir into the saute vegetables. Add salt, tumeric, and cabbage mix well. Stir in the water and cook till cabbage is tender.
