14 oz. bag of Cat Lover's shaped pasta (or any short pasta)
7 tbsp unsalted butter
? cup plus 2 tbsp all purpose flour
3 cups 1% milk
1 cup half & half
⅛ tsp cayenne
3 cups extra sharp Cheddar cheese
? cup sour cream
1⅓ cups fresh grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 tsp salt

Here is how you make Cat Lover's Mac 'n Cheese:

1. Preheat oven to 350 and butter a 9 x 13 shallow baking dish.2. In saucepan, melt 7 tbsp butter over medium-low heat. Add flour and whisk for 3 minutes (creates a roux). Add milk and half & half in a stream while whisking then bring to a boil, continuing to whisk. Add cayenne, salt and pepper, and simmer, whisking, until thickened.3. Cook pasta for 6 minutes in gently boiling water, until just al dente. Drain pasta in colander and in a large bowl gently combine pasta, sauce, grated Cheddar cheese, 1 cup grated Parmesan, and sour cream. Transfer to baking dish.4. In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs and remaining ⅓ cup Parmesan and sprinkle over pasta. Cut up the remaining 1 tbsp butter and top bread crumbs.5.
