Bircher style muesli Mix

The Bircher muesli recipe I use and have for breakfast most morning. Vegan recipe although yoghurt on top is also lovely. If people don't love apples, orange juice is a nice change and any fruit can be used on top.I find this to be a very filling breakfast, which keeps me going for a long time. For people worried about sugars, the main areas to watch are the dried fruits, these can be omitted and replaced with extra fresh fruit if desired or different nuts and seeds.

Here is how you make Bircher style muesli Mix:

Makes 6 1/2 cup serves (approx) Mix all dry ingredients together well.Serve out a half cup serve into a bowl, add a half cup of apple juice and let sit over night (or at least 4 hours for the juice to be absorbed) refrigerated. When ready to serve, grate half an apple over the top.Different juices can be used to soak the muesli overnight, milk can also be added although that makes for a different taste. Yoghurt on the top is very good and a great way to add extra calcium and some protein. You can substitute different nuts and seeds also for a different taste, hazelnuts and pecans, walnuts are all great in this mix.
