Add salt to taste, 2 bayleaves, 1 inch ginger and cook until tender.In a sauce pan, heat oil, add 1 bayleaf, saute onions until transparent, add chopped tomatoes, sliced jalapeno, cayenne pepper & coriander powder, turmeric & salt and cook until tomatoes are soft.
