I like to vary the type of lettuce, spinach or other garden greens as well as the fresh vegies available out of my garden or from the Farmer's Market (summer squash, snap or snow peas, broccoli, etc.). Also adding a tablespoon of sunflower seeds or slivered almonds is a great protein addition, or a serving of salmon or tuna on top for a non-vegetarian version of this garden salad.
